IF my people would listen to me, IF Israel would follow my ways... I would satisfy you.
At first when I read this Psalm, it stuck out to me that "I would satisfy you" and I pondered on that asking the Lord to satisfy me. Then I went back and reread it, realizing it is saying He would satisfy me. Wait, why would? Why not now?
Because our satisfaction is dependent on us. If we listen to Him (His word), if we follow His ways (in His word)... we would be satisfied.
I confess I am not satisfied, but I am not always listening, I am not always following His ways. But when I have, oh it is sweet.
Taste and see that the LORD is good... Ps 34:8a
