Just the belly...
18 May 2009
Also got some pics for you... Wow guess I missed a 31 week thing. O well. I think I might have overloaded my computer trying to upload pics and video all at once...
9 May (3ow5d) stretch marks...
18 May (32w) belly...
Ah ha! Praise God it worked... I can almost go to bed... waiting for Blogger to process video...
Well, speaking of baby showers, reminds me of registries. People asked me what we needed, so I'll let you know... we just got some sheets in the mail today (thank you Kerrin and Sarah D!), and we already have the crib from craigslist, and we have a sweet running stroller (can't wait! Thank you BBG ladies!!). Oh right, what we need. LOL.
Well we're registered on amazon, at target, and baby emporium (for all those in the local area). That's a good start right? We need: carseat and extra base. That's about as much as we need right now before baby comes. We would also like a pump, some accessories for the stroller, (so we can put the carseat on top of it), and some other random stuff (hamper and diaper holder from amazon-it's cute with monkeys!). Baby tub, baby stuff like that. A video camera since we should document our child :p, maybe someone to help us put in the flooring before he comes...Guess I'm not that much help after all. Well.. that's what we don't have so far. Now you know.
Hooray! Video all pau, ready for bed.

-He definitely hangs out on the right side (gets into my ribs, have no idea how he's positioned).
-I am due 2 months from today! (13 July).
-Might have had my first braxton hicks contraction... interesting. I was just thinking, "I haven't had any braxton hicks yet..."
-I get very gassy after eating vegetarian/salad (figures, healthy stuff :P)
-Finally got the ball rolling on my curtain project with Kirby. Ordered the white material that goes towards the street side (also helps keep sunlight/heat out). Next, find double curtain rods I like...order them, then buy material...and get sewing!
-Beta Beta Gamma baby shower this weekend! Eeps!!
Alrighty, gotta go. I'm always late to Wednesday Yoga... :P

Well, we were able to get the twin bed out of the room and Kimmy's holding it at her place. She can use it while she's taking summer classes, and afterwards, we'll figure out if someone else needs it, or if we want it/have room for it in the room. For now, the next project is getting the curtains on a roll. Today walked around FabricMart and saw two materials that I liked, possibly a third. I think I'm leaning towards a brighter green as opposed to a sage green, since it is a nursery.
Hoping to pick up working out this week. Seems like my long weeks are a bit slower on the workout schedule than the short ones. However, this weekend is definitely packed with a lot of events, not to mention my own baby shower! I totally spaced-I mean it's in my planner, but I can't believe that the time is already coming!
Man, it bugs me I can't really think of some of the stuff I wanted to write...well you know how the cravings are like, for a couple days in a row and then gone? Lately it's been strawberry stuff. Strawberry milk, regular strawberries; I had strawberry slushee, it didn't really go that great. I've also gone through corned beef hash, egg and rice...that was a good one. Oh macaroni and cheese. Bay shrimp alfredo from the place in Ala Moana, for a night had some sourdough bread bowl with clam chowder.
Well I guess I don't really have much else to say... I was asked to help with this weekend's womens' devotional. Basically a recap of some women we've studied. I revisted my scratch notes from Mary, sister of Lazarus. You'll find them below... but it really got to me the part about her sitting at Jesus' feet getting her instruction from him. Well, it also got me that every time Mary is mentioned in the Bible-she's at the feet of Jesus.
Anyway, below are the notes..."so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Isa 55:11
Mary, sister of Martha devotional
At the feet of Jesus
Every time Mary is mentioned in the Bible she is seen at the feet of Jesus.
* Passage: Luke 10:39-42; At His feet for instruction, and found her blessing
V39) “She had a sister, called Mary, who also sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.” – you can sit at the feet of Jesus in fellowship with others, she is listening as to listen for instruction, intently paying attention to what Jesus says. Listening to what the Word (logos-the word for said) says is our way of sitting at His feet and listening
V40) We’ve always heard how Martha was distracted by things that “had to be made” and asks the Lord if he cares that her sister has left her to work by herself. The word distracted is “to draw away, to be over-occupied, too busy” (perispao) How often have you thought you would have quiet time but instead you got distracted by other things-doing the dishes, cleaning, errands and by the end of the day, you didn’t get to sit at his feet?
V41-42) Jesus responds that Mary has chosen (eklegomai: pick out for one’s self, choosing out of many) what is better, what is needed (Ps 27:4 One thing I have desired of the Lord…that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life…). And this will not be taken away (aphaireo: remove, carried off, cut off) from her. Once you have sat at his feet and truly listened to His word, that cannot be taken away from you, not by Satan’s lies, by man, or your own self doubt. This is why it’s so important to have the sword of the spirit which is the word of God (Eph 6:10).
* Passage: John 11:28-33; At His feet for comfort, and He takes her burden
Lazarus the brother of Mary and Martha was sick. The sisters sent word to the Lord that Lazarus was sick, and yet “Jesus stayed where he was two more days” (v6). When Jesus arrives “Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days.” (v17). “Martha head that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.” (v20). Mary had a right to mourn and weep the death of her brother. But does your mourning cause a hardness of heart? Are you mourning while still in submission to God?
V28) Martha tells Mary that Jesus is asking for her. In your mourning, in your pit of depression & sorrow-when other people call out to you that the Jesus is asking for you-what is your response?
V29) “When Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to him.” Immediately her response, when Martha brings Mary the Word is to go back to her Savior.
V31) “When the Jews who had been with Mary in the house, comforting her, noticed how quickly she got up and went out, they followed her, supposing she was going to the tomb to mourn there.” Is your reaction when someone brings you the Word, noticeable by others?
V32) “When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell (pipto: descend from an erect to a prostrate position) at his feet and said, ‘Lord if you had been here, my brother would not have died.’ “ Jesus was “still at the place where Martha had met him” (v30) and Mary rushed to go to him. When she gets to him she falls flat on the ground, laying flat on her tummy facing down, and in submission (her posture), she says in faith, as a petition that if Jesus had been there, Lazarus would not be dead. It’s interesting that the mourners from her house have followed her, and this is all happening in front of many people that may or may not believe Jesus is the Christ.
V33) “When Jesus saw her weeping…he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.” Deeply moved in spirit and troubled is the same word as to be moved with anger. He was bothered in the same way that when a child is hurting the Father is upset, angered at the death that sin causes. Jesus responds and asks the Father “for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me” (V42) to raise Lazarus. The Father hears the Son’s request (Jesus’ acting as our defense before the Father) and Lazarus is alive. Mary immediately responded to Jesus’ call and she humbly acknowledges his sovereignty, while sharing her grief. Her burden is heavy, but the Lord’s burden is light (Matt 11:30)
* Passage: John 12:1-3; At His feet for service, and she gives her best
VV2-3) “…Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.” It wasn’t unusual to wash the guests’ feet, and usually some oil or perfume was used to anoint the head of the guest (just a little bit), but to anoint the feet with such a large amount-was unusual. She humbles herself and considers her best good enough for his feet; she was extravagant (about a year’s worth of wages) with the amount she used for Jesus; and she was not selfconscious. Wiping the feet with her hair requires her hair to be let down in front of others, something not done in Jewish culture. She was criticized for her act of extravagance (V5) but Christians are often criticized when they give their best.
V7) “’Leave her alone,’ Jesus replied…” Despite the opposition, Mary did not say anything to defend herself; instead her Savior rescues her from the harsh criticisms—from fellow followers of Christ!

I'm sorry this is gonna be short (gotta get to work), but I wanted to post some pics... hopefully I'll be back later today to add comments, I have lots to say!
